In organic chemistry, a coupling reaction is a type of reaction in which two reactant molecules are bonded together. Such reactions often require the aid of a metal catalyst. Niobium is the third most exported metal in terms of value, losing only to iron ores and gold [1]. The world niobium consumption has grown a hundredfold since the 1960s, and the emergence of new technologies may contribute to increasing the niobium market in future. Niobium catalysts generally possess a good Lewis acidity and have received increased attention in recent years. Materials containing niobium have increased the activity and selectivity in several catalytic reactions, therefore it has awakened the interest among researchers [2,3]. This study reports a simple, reusable, and recoverable niobium-based heterogeneous catalysts for coupling reaction. Additionally, a feasible reaction pathway was suggested for coupling reaction using niobiumbased heterogeneous catalysts.
