Polymer based gas separation membranes are using in industrial processes by different modification methods including inserting inorganic fillers into them to improve their separation behaviors. In this study, the polyvinylidene fluoride/poly(methyl methacrylate) (PVDF/PMMA) based mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) containing NH2-CuBTC were fabricated and tested for pure CO2 and CH4 permeation. Synthesized MOF was characterized by XRD and FT-IR analysis. SEM, TGA and mechanical tests have been used to define morphology and property of prepared membranes. Good adhesion between polymer and MOF (5 wt%) was confirmed by SEM images. Thermal resistance of MMMs decreased compared to the pure PVDF/PMMA membrane due to the interaction of degradation products of MOF and polymers which fasten weight decrease in process in lower temperatures. The modulus of MMMs showed increscent with increase in MOF loading while tensile stress and elongation strain at break decreased. Significant increase was observed in CO2 permeation and CO2/CH4 selectivity with 10 wt% incorporation of MOF in PVDF/PMMA matrix compared to the pure membrane.
