The miniaturization of sample introduction systems has gained great interest in the past decades. Analysis of micro- and nanosamples became important for sample-restrained applications in fields such as forensic, clinical, biological, among others. Further applications are the analysis of toxic and radioactive samples where the waste should be limited. For miniaturized liquid sample introduction, the most common approach is the downsizing of the nebulizer dimensions for working on extremely low liquid flow (i.e., in the nL min− 1 range). This book chapter highlights the design and the recent analytical applications of different nanonebulizer found in the bibliography.
