چکیده The cosmopolitan genus Tyrophagus (with 35 valid species) was erected by Oudemans, 1924. Most species of this genus are fungivorous, commonly associated with stored products and have a substantial economic impact (Fan & Zhang, 2007). Eight species of Tyrophagus have been recorded in Iran (Masoudian et al., 2018). In this study, fauna of astigmatid mites (genus Tyrophagus) from Hamedan region (Western Iran) was investigated in 2016. The specimens were collected and extracted form soil and litter under trees (e.g. ash, almond, elm, firethorn, hawthorn, oak, plane, poplar, quince, raspberry, sure cherry, walnut, wild plum and white willow) by using a Berlese funnel. The mites were prepared on microscope slides in Hoyer’s medium and examined under an Olympus BX51 microscope. The identified species were as follows: T. longior (Gervais, 1844); T. neiswanderi Johnston & Bruce, 1965; T. perniciosus Zakhvatkin, 1941; T. putrescentiae (Schrank, 1781); T. similis Volgin, 1949; T. sp. and T. vanheurni Oudemans, 1924. Among them T. perniciosus Zakhvatkin was found abundantly in different ecosystems and with highly distribution.
