Background and Aim: As regards that cutaneous leishmaniasis is now accounted as a major problem in many developed and undeveloped countries around the world, types of diagnosis in animal models can be important in determining the function of this parasite. This study concerned the expression of inflammatory genes in an animal model of Balb/C mice injected with parasite and without infection. Methods: The specific primers were designed for 6 proinflammatory genes including TNF- IL1- -β, IFN-у, IL12-p35, IL12-p40. Expression of these genes was analyzed using by RT- PCR the wound in Leishmania infected BALB/c mice. Results: Pro-inflammatory genes, including TNF-α were expressed in skin the injection site mice infected wounds, and also IL-1β were expressed in the spleen. Conclusion: The expression of inflammatory genes in this model can be important in interpreting the experimental model of parasite injection.
