چکیده	The present study analysed generic of Psychology and Physics Research Articles (RAs) as sub-branches of Humanities and Basic Sciences respectively which are usually thought to have vast generic variations. The focus of the study was narrowed down to grammatical structures of tense and voice in the two disciplines. To this end, a corpus of 100 RAs (50 from each discipline) published between 2000 and 2015 in accredited indexed Journals were randomly selected as the corpus of the study. The results of Chi-square analysis to compare the frequency of occurrence of tense and voice in the two disciplines demonstrated that Psychology and Physics RAs were significantly different in their use of various tense. However, the results of Chi-square analysis indicated that there was no significant difference between the two disciplines in their use of voice. Furfure analysis of the corpus revealed that present simple, present perfect, past perfect and future were used significantly more frequently in Physics RAs, whereas the Psychology RAs used present progressive, past simple and past progressive significantly more frequently. The results could have some implications for EAP teachers and writing instructors to focus more on these generic features specific to each discipline.
