Drawing on Vygotsky's sociocultural theory (SCT), different networked technologies mediate the learning process and such tools can regulate the learners' higher-order thinking, mental functioning and problem solving (McDonough, Shaw, & Masuhara, 2013). Within the advent of Networked Technologies, special importance is given to social interaction. This paper examines EFL teachers' perspectives regarding the role of technology in language teaching and learning. Employing semi-structured interviews, the researchers collected data were from 30 public school EFL teachers in Ahvaz, Iran. The results acknowledged the important role of technology in the development of efficient teaching and learning as a social tool. It was mentioned that EFL courses were in urgent in of the integration of technology. Accordingly, the employment of technology as a supplementary means can generate opportunities leading to the students' extensive engagement in learning tasks. Pedagogical implications are also discussed.
