چکیده Theoptimizationandmodelingoftheelectrochemicalprocess,whichwasconductedbyusingstainlesssteelelectrodecoatedwithSnO2nanoparticles(nano-SnO2/SS)asanode,intheremovalofmetronidazole(MNZ)wascarriedoutthroughtheresponsesurfacemethodology(RSM)involvingafive-levelcentralcompositedesign(CCD).Thenano-SnO2/SSanodewaspreparedusingelectrophoreticdeposition(EPD)method.Theinteractionbetweenfourvariablesi.e.initialpH,currentdensity,reactiontimeandelectrolyteconcentrationwasstudiedandmodeled.TheresultsofoptimizationshowedthatmaximumMNZremovalefficiencywasachievedattheoptimumconditions:initialpH7,currentdensity15mA/cm2,reactiontime100minandelectrolyteconcentration0.5g/L.Inoptimumconditions,MNZandCODremovalefficiencywere85.1%and34.48%,respectively.Inaddition,thestatisticalanalysisoftheresultsindicatedthatintherangestudied,electrolyteconcentrationandpHhadasignificanteffectonMNZremovalefficiency.
