چکیده The salting-out effect of NaCl on the liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) of the ternary water + acetone + 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate (HMIMPF6) system was studied at 298.2 K and under ambient pressure. The distribution coefficient of acetone between ionic liquid/aqueous phases increases with its concentration, both in salt-free and in the presence of salt. Adding a 5 wt% (based on initial water mass) NaCl leads to an average enhancement of about 46% in distribution coefficient; however, this criterion decreases to some extent with 10 wt% of this salt due to an increase in mutual solubility of HMIMPF6 and water.
