چکیده In this work, we calculate the Joule–Thomson inversion curves (JITC) of natural gas and its components, including methane, ethane, propane, n-butane, n-pentane, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and mixtures of them from the statistical associating fluid theory (SAFT) and its modification, perturbed chain-SAFT (PC-SAFT). Comparisons with experimental data, molecular simulation and two empirical equation curve through the experimental data for natural gas components, show good quantitative agreement. For natural gas components, the predictions of the Joule–Thomson inversion curves are satisfied; but, unfortunately, due to lack of Joule–Thomson inversion curves data for natural gas, the reliability of model predictions could not be completely verified. Also, the efficiency of three cubic equations of state in calculating the Joule–Thomson inversion curve of methane is compared with SAFT and PC-SAFT equation of states.
