چکیده Excess molar enthalpies, HmE for the binary mixtures of 2-butoxyethanol with methanol, ethanol, propan-1-ol, propan-2-ol, butan-1-ol and butan-2-ol have been calculated from calorimetric data at T = 298.15 K and ambient pressure. Calorimetric measurements were accomplishment with a Parr 1455 solution calorimeter. All the binary mixtures show endothermic behavior except one of them which shows exothermic behavior over the entire range of compositions. The HmE values become more positive with increasing the steric factors. The experimental values of HmE are positive for all the binary mixtures except one of them which are negative. With increasing the chain length of the alcohols, the HmE values become less positive. The maximum HmE values were observed about 0.4–0.6 mole fraction of 2-butoxyethanol. The excess molar enthalpies, HmE increase with temperature and the molecular size of the alcohols. The experimental results were correlated by using the Redlich–Kister equation and one local-composition model (Wilson). Agreement between theoretical and experimental values is satisfactory.
