چکیده This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of different selenium sources on the blood biochemical parameters and antioxidant response in Holstein dairy cows feed by fat rich diets. Twelve Holstein homogenous cows with similar BW 381 ± 21kg and milk production means 41 ± 4 kg, were used in a replicated Latin square design. The experiment was conducted in 3 periods of 28 days and 3 treatments including; treatment1 (basal diet containing 21% cottonseed, without selenium supplement), treatment2 (basal diet+ 1.3 ppm selenium, as sodium selenite) and treatment3 (basal diet + 1.3 ppm selenium, as Nano selenium). At the last days of each period, blood samples were collected to determine Blood biochemical parameters and antioxidant response. The results of this study showed that adding selenium to the diet did not affect the glucose, blood urinary nitrogen, cratenin, total protein, albumin and globulin concentrations in dairy cows serum (P>1.13), But in contrast treatments especially Nano selenium significantly decreased the concentration of serum fat metabolites' (P<1.13) and significantly increased the total antioxidant capacity (P<1.11). Overall results showed that supplementation of 1.3 ppm selenium (specially Nano selenium) to the diet containing high levels of unsaturated fat decreased the concentration of serum harmful fats and contemporaneous increased the total antioxidant capacity in dairy cows plasma that Reflected in improved productivity of experimental cows.
