The trial was conducted to evaluate the effects of different sources of selenium supplements on Hematological metabolites in fattening Mehraban lambs. The trial experiment consisted of 18 lambs, 4-5 months of age and 35.7±2.6 kg average in weight randomly allotted to 3 treatments. Treatments were: 1) Control diet (a diet without selenium, containing 0.06 mg/kg of selenium), 2) Control diet + 0.4 mg/kg Se as selenium yeast (0.4SeY), and 3) Control diet + 0.4 mg/kg Se as sodium selenite (0.4SeS). This trial lasted for 70 days. Blood samples were taken on days 0, 35 and 70. The trial were carried out as a completely randomized design. Supplementations of selenium to diet did not have significant effect on lambs hematological parameter (p>0.05). Although selenium supplementation increased blood GPX activity compared to control group (p<0.05). Overall, It may be concluded that 0.4 mg/kg selenium supplementation as organic and inorganic forms had no significant effects on Hematological parameters in Mehraban lambs.
