چکیده	Background and Aim: Today, Substance abuse is a serious problem. High-risk patterns of substance abuse due to both HIV and psychological problems,propound necessity in treatment of substance abuse and harm reduction. The purpose of this study is comparison of psychotic symptoms and paranoid thoughts in groups exposed to Methadone Maintenance Treatment (MMT) and Drop in Center (DIC) services. Methods: Method of this research wascross sectional. Statistical population was persons that refer to center for addiction in Hamedan, 2011. Of them, 60 people were selected by convenient sampling (30 people methadone receivers and 30 people DIC services receivers) and answered to SCL-90 test. The data was analyzed by SPSS software and independent T-test. Results: The results demonstrated that there was a significant difference between psychotic symptoms and paranoid thoughts in groups exposed to Methadone Maintenance Treatment and Drop in Center services (P < 0/05). Also the average of psychotic symptoms and paranoid thoughts in group exposed to Methadone Maintenance Treatment was lower than group exposed to Drop in Center services. Conclusion: Therefore, we can say that methadone maintenance treatment is more effective than DIC services and it improves psychotic symptoms and paranoid thoughts of clients with addiction.
