In this project, first of all, a new N-halo reagent, namely N,2-dibromo-6-chloro-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzo[e][1,2,4]thiadiazine-7-sulfonamide 1,1-dioxide (DCDBTSD), as an efficient and novel catalyst have prepared. Advantages of this catalyst are high stability, availability of the catalyst, metal-free nature, low toxicity and neutral media and simple reaction conditions. In next sections, the catalytic activity of this reagent in the synthesis of bis(pyrazolyl)methanes, 9-aryl-1,8-dioxo-octahydroxanthenes and 1-amidoalkyl (carbamato/thioacetamido)-2-naphthols have been investigated. Because of the application of 1-amidoalkyl-2-naphthols compounds in biologically active natural products, development of mild, fast and effective methods are needed. We have also examined catalytic activity of trichloroisocyanuric acid (TCCA) and 1,3-dibromo-5,5-dimethylhydantoin (DCDMH) in the synthesis of 1-amidoalkyl (carbamato/thioacetamido)-2-naphthols.
