Powdered activated carbon is widely used in chemical processes for adsorption of organic materials. In this study, the performance of electrochemical method for regeneration of saturated industrial powdered activated carbon with quinoline is studied in a batch reactor with graphite bars as anode and cathode. Importance of study is due to high cost of production for activated carbon, resulting in the reduction of consumption of activated carbon and disposal of wastes in the environment. The main parameters considered in the study are: pH in the range of 3-11, electrical current in the range of 20-200mA, time of regeneration in the range of 60-120min and temperature in the range of 10-50oC. Maximum yield of regeneration obtained was 84.3% at pH: 6.4, time: 118min and current: 0.19A in the room temperature because experimental results showed that temperature had no significant effect on regeneration yield. By design expert software, the influence of mentioned parameters was studied and the optimum conditions of regeneration yield were predicted to be about 82.6%.
