Activated carbon powder is widely used in chemical processes for adsorption of organic materials. In this work, the performance of electrochemical method for regeneration of saturated industrial activated carbon powder with prednisolone was studied in a batch reactor with graphite bars as anode and cathode. Importance of study is due to high cost of production for activated carbon, resulting in reduction of the consumption of activated carbon and disposal of wastes in the environment. The main parameters considered in the study are: pH in the range of 3-11, electrical current in the range of 10-lOOmA, time of regeneration in the range of 30-120min, and temperature in the range of 10-50oC. Maximum yield of regeneration was obtained 50% at pH:3, time:120min and current:0.06A. By design expert software, the influence of mentioned parameters was studied and the optimum conditions of regeneration yield were predicted to be about 51.2%. The experimental results demonstrated that temperature had no significant effect on regeneration yield.
