Title Urea-based porous organic polymer as a hydrogen bond catalyst in Knoevenagel condensation reaction
Type Presentation
Keywords Knoevenagel
Abstract Recently, porous organic polymers (POPs) have attracted increasing attention and have emerged as a new research area in polymer chemistry [1]. These materials have so much applications in gas adsorption/separation, energy storage, H2 production from water, photocatalysis, chemical sensing, solar cells, water purification, optical devices, catalytic transformations and biomedicine [2]. The product of Knoevenagel condensation reaction is made from the reaction between aldehydes or ketones and active methylene compounds [3]. In this study, the synthesis of some organic compounds based on Knoevenagel reaction in the presence of new urea-based POP as a hydrogen bond catalyst is reported (Scheme 1).
