Title A simple and fast epinephrine voltammetry sensor using reduced graphene oxide and iron metal–organic framework
Type JournalPaper
Keywords Electrochemical sensor; Voltammetry; Epinephrine; Uric acid; Metal organic framework; Electrochemically reduced graphene oxide
Abstract In this research, the metal–organic frameworks of iron (III) terephthalic acid (MIL-53–(Fe)) as well as graphene oxide were synthesized. The surface of the glassy carbon electrode was electrochemically modified by reduced graphene oxide and MIL(53)–Fe by cyclic voltammetry. The surface morphology of the modified electrodes was investigated by X-ray diffraction analysis, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, energy dispersive X-ray analysis, and scanning electron microscopy techniques. The modified electrode was applied to determine epinephrine in the presence of uric acid. The electrode shows more sensitive response for epinephrine in the presence of uric acid than some unmodified electrodes. The detection limit and the linear range obtained for epinephrine determination were 89 nmol/L and 0.49 to 130.41 μmol/L, respectively, which compared to other recent studies about epinephrine electrochemical sensors were completely suitable.
