Title Enhancing cytocompatibility, antibacterial activity and corrosion resistance of PEO coatings on titanium using incorporated ZrO2 nanoparticles
Type JournalPaper
Keywords Pure Ti Plasma electrolytic oxidation ZrO2 nanoparticles Corrosion MG63 cell S. aureus
Abstract This study aims to present the influence of adding three different concentrations (1, 3, and 5 g/L) of ZrO2 nanoparticles (NPs) into the electrolyte of the plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) process on prepared composite coatings characteristics on Ti substrate. The structural and compositional analysis confirmed that ZrO2 NPs can incorporate on the surface and inside the pores of coatings, while it may emerge as the ZrTiO4 phase in the coatings’ composition.
