Abstract Efficient and recyclable nano vanadium oxo phthalocyanine-based molten salt ([VO(TPPABr)]CBr3), as a vanadium porphyrazine –bassed molten salt catalyst was successfully designed produced and used for synthesis of unsymmetric Hantzsch 1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives through a one pot multi-component reaction between ethyl acetoacetate, dimedone, ammonium acetate and various aryl aldehydes.
