Title Electrochemical Generation of Aryl Diazonium and Polymerization by Radical Initiator, Electropolymerization and Characterization of Acrylic Acid
Type Presentation
Keywords electropolymerization • acrylic acid • p-dinitrobenzene • double-current two-phase cell • cyclic voltammetry
Abstract In this study, we succeeded in synthesizing poly acrylic acid in a double-current two-phase system containing water and ethyl acetate on a Cu electrode. In this strategy, the electrochemical generation of the initiator (aryl radical) is performed in a one-pot, in two successive electrochemical stages in ethyl acetate and water, respectively. The structural properties and characteristics of the deposited poly acrylic acid layer is fully characterized using different spectroscopic techniques, electrochemical and surface analysis studies. The present method is efficient and the experimental results confirm our strategy in creating an attractive architecture of a non-porous insulating film on the electrode surface.
