Title Electrochemical characterization of binuclear ruthenium (II) complex towards application in light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs)
Type Presentation
Keywords light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs), Ruthenium binuclear complex, Cyclic voltammetry
Abstract In this work, we designed and synthesized a new binuclear ruthenium complex with bipyridine as an ancillary ligand. To investigate the redox properties of this binuclear complex as well as the finding of an insight into the electronic structure, cyclic voltammogram of the complex was recorded in acetonitrile solution. The reversible redox processes in positive and negative potential predict the high stability of this complex under the operation conditions used in lighting devices . Accordingly, this complex was used as an emitter in the light-emitting electrochemical cell (LEC). The fabricated cell exhibited a red mission with good features of LEC such as low turn-on voltage, high brightness, and fast response time.
