Title Preparation and application of new functionalized nano magnetic iron oxide and zirconium oxide catalysts in the synthesis of nitrogen based heterocycle derivatives
Type Thesis
Keywords Nano catalyst, Ionic liquids, Multi component reaction.
Abstract In this thesis, novel nano magnetic catalysts namely, Fe3O4@SiO2@Si(CH2)3@melamine@picolinealdehyde @SO3H, Fe3O4@SiO2@Si(CH2)3@DCC and Fe3O4@Ca(HSO4)2 designed and synthesized. The as-synthesized catalysts were fully characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and vibrating-sample magnetometer (VSM). Furthermore the functional groups on the surface of the as-synthesized catalysts were approved using infrared (FT-IR). Also, using thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), derivative thermal gravimetric (DTG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA), the stability temperature of the as-synthesized catalyst were determined. These catalysts can also be recycled and used in a reaction several times with slight decrease of reaction yield. Following the synthesis and characterization of the as-synthesized catalysts by the mentioned methods, they were used in the multi-component reactions such as, synthesis of hexahydro quinolin, 2-amino-3-cyano pyridine and indazolo phetalazine derivatives. These N-heterocyclic compounds were synthesized with high yields and low reaction times. Also, the performance of Fe3O4@SiO2@Si(CH2)3@DCC as a nano-structure was evaluated in the chemical and biological water treatment. In another investigation, hexahydroquinoline derivatives were synthesized with very low reaction time and high yield using ZrOCl2.8H2O.
