Abstract
|
The developing countries encounter the shortage of fiscal investment reserves and try to prepare them in different ways. One of the ways of providing fiscal reserves is Official Development Assistance (ODA) which is the foreign aids, paying by OECD. This paper tries to explore the impact of ODA on public sector expenditures in African countries. For this purpose, using panel data model for 51 African countries by ODA over the period of 1993-2015. The main objective of this research is the study of the efforts of ODA on government capital and current expenditures and some other variables like government revenue and public borrowing. Empirical results indicate the ODA has positive and significantly effect on infrastructure expenditures but it has insignificant impact on government current expenditures in African countries. It has positive and significantly effect on government revenue and a negative and significantly effect on public borrowing too.
