Title The Effect of Nanodiamond Particles on Microstructure and Phase Transformation in Poly(Vinylidene Fluoride)/Nanodiamonds Nanocomposite Films
Type Presentation
Keywords -Poly(vinylidene fluoride) - Canodiamond Particles
Abstract Poly(vinylidene fluoride), PVDF, and its copolymers are the family of polymers with the highest dielectric constant and electroactive response, including piezoelectric, pyroelectric and ferroelectric effects. Nanodiamond/PVDF nanocomposite films were prepared by solution casting method with various nanodiamond contents. This study represent the effect of adding nanodiamond particles in PVDF. The phase transformation and crystal structure of nanocomposite were studied by FTIR, XRD and SEM analysis. The chosen approach for preparation and the high compatibility between nanodiamonds and PVDF result in the formation of best piezoelectric ߚ-polymorph at only 8wt% nanodiamond particles content. With increasing concentration of nanodiamond particles, due to congestion and overlapping of nanoparticles the ߚ-phase is reduced.
