Abstract In this investigation, Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4, as an efficient and heterogeneous catalyst, was prepared and characterized by IR, EDX, XRD and SEM analyses. Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 was successfully used for the synthesis of 2,4,5-triaryl substituted imidazoles by the one-pot, three component reaction under solvent-free conditions. Efficiency, generality, high yield, cleaner reaction profiles, ease of product isolation, short reaction times and simplicity are some advantages of this study.
