Bu-Ali Sina University Achieves Major Progress in THE World University Rankings 2026
It is hereby announced that, according to the official results of the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, Bu-Ali Sina University has successfully maintained its global position within the 1201–1500 band, while demonstrating remarkable improvements across all key performance indicators and achieving notable advances in national rankings.
This success has been realized through targeted research policies and the dedicated efforts of the entire university community.
Key Achievements
1. Historic Leap in Research Environment (National Level)
Major national competitive achievement:
The University’s national ranking in the Research Environment indicator—comprising research income and research reputation—has impressively advanced by seven places, rising from 15th to 8th nationwide.
This leap places Bu-Ali Sina University among the top 10 universities in Iran in terms of research infrastructure and environment, reflecting the effectiveness of strategic investments and the efficient management of research resources.
2. Quantitative and Qualitative Growth in Global Indicators
Increase in Research Environment Score:
The University’s overall score in the global Research Environment indicator increased from 17.1 in 2025 to 20.9 in 2026.
Enhanced Industry Engagement:
The University’s score in the Industry Engagement indicator rose from 24.7 to 26.9, reflecting the successful expansion of technological and economic collaborations with non-academic sectors.
Progress in International Outlook:
The International Outlook indicator showed the highest growth rate among all indicators, increasing from 26.5 to 32.6, while its national ranking improved by seven positions, reaching 26th.
This achievement demonstrates the University’s success in developing international research collaborations and attracting foreign researchers.
3. Sustained Position in the National Competitive Landscape
Bu-Ali Sina University has maintained its 16th position among comprehensive universities in Iran.
Given the growing number and quality of competitors, this consistency signifies the stabilization of last year’s six-place advancement and the continuation of a steady upward trend in performance.
