Based on the latest results announced by the Islamic World Science Citation and Monitoring Institute (ISC) in the 2024 ISC World Rankings, Bu-Ali Sina University has achieved a global rank in the 1601–1800 range and ranked 10th among comprehensive universities in Iran.
In the field of technology and innovation, the university attained a global rank of 1453, ranking 5th among Iranian universities and 3rd among comprehensive universities.
The published 2024 ISC World Rankings feature 72 universities from Iran, reflecting an increase of three universities compared to the previous year.
The ISC World Rankings are conducted without self-reporting by universities. Over the past seven years, a reliable database has been developed at ISC, which can serve as a credible source for research policymaking and charting the path for universities toward global standards.
Only universities that had published at least 850 documents in the Web of Science database between 2020 and 2022 were included in this ranking. The data for the ranking were collected from the USPTO, WOS, and InCites databases.
In total, the 2024 ISC World Rankings include 2,661 universities from 114 countries and six continents. Among these, China leads with 432 universities, followed by the United States with 325, India with 163, Japan with 123, Türkiye with 102, the United Kingdom with 100, Germany with 74, Brazil with 73, Iran with 72, and South Korea with 68 universities represented in the ranking.
