There are many crystal structures in which a protonated amine is attached to the 18-crown-6 [1-4]. The formation of a molecular switch upon interaction between a protonated amine group attached to the fullerene molecule and the ring of 18-crown-6connected to the zinc-porphirin complex is also reported [5].In this work we report the synthesis, characterization and crystal structure of a new complex in which a fully protonated triamine is attached to two 18-crown-6 rings.In the crystal structure of the complex, the fully protonated N-(2-Aminoethyl)-1,3-propanediamine forms a complex with 18-crown-6 molecule via N- each of the three protons of each NH3 + group has interaction with one of the six oxygen atoms of the crown ring.
