In this study nanoporous metal organic framework (MOF-5) was synthesized as the copper ion (Cu2+) adsorbent. The morphology and structure of the obtained adsorbent were characterized by XRD, SEMand nitrogen adsorption/ desorption methods. The adsorption studies of copper ion by MOF-5 include both kinetic and equilibriumapproaches and the obtained equilibriumand kinetic data were fitted with differentmodels. The effect of temperature and solution pH on the removal efficiency was investigated as well.
