Space syntaxseekstoexplainhowspatialconfigurations expresssocialorculturalmeanings. One suchmeaningisconfidentiality,whichwasmainlyintroducedintoIranianarchitectureasa result ofreligiousbeliefs.InIranianarchitecture,confidentiality isviewedfromtheaspectof privacy. This studyisacasestudythatmakesuseofdescription,analysis,andlogicalreasoning.The objective istoanalyzebehavioralpatternsinthespatialconfigurations oftraditionaland modern housesinHamedan.Insodoing,libraryresearch,softwaresimulationwiththeUCL Depthmap package,andcomparisontechniquesareutilized. The findingsindicatethatthespatialconfigurations ofhouseshavechangedinthecourseof time.
