requirement to develop eco-friendly and stable oil-water (O/W) separators. In this work, the separation process of oil from the O/W mixtures and emulsions was studied by a packed-bed column filled with a combination of urea-bearing porous organic polymer (UPOP), prepared by solvothermal synthetic route, and granular activated carbon (GAC). The urea moieties of UPOP enhance oil removal performance via hydrogen bonding interactions of oil with urea moieties.
