Multicomponent reactions (MCRs) as an elegant tool for the preparation of pharmaceutical active molecules and/or drug candidates are great demand. This protocol represents varied merits including atom and step economy so that preparation of complex structures in single synthetic protocol with high efficiency is performed. On the other hands, ionic liquids have found their influential position in different fields of chemistry and they can be used as catalyst, solvent or reagent for organic functional group transformation [1-3]. In this study, we combined the multicomponent reaction strategy and promising features of ionic liquids to present a powerful method for the preparation of amidoalkyl naphthol derivatives as versatile biological active structures from the reaction of different arylaldehydes, 2-naphthol and acetamide or benzamide under mild reaction conditions. All reaction performed smoothly in short reaction times with high to excellent operational yields.
