Abstract

Pyridine derivatives are of attention because of the occurrence of their saturated and partially saturated derivatives in biologically active compounds and natural products such as pyridoxol or vitamin B6, NAD nucleotides and pyridine alkaloids [1]. In this regard, we investigated a one-pot three-component reaction between numerous aldehydes, malononitrile and aniline at 50 oC under solvent-free condition for the synthesis of 2-amino-4-aryl-6- (arylamino)pyridine-3,5-dicarbonitriles catalyzed by triethylammonium tricyanomethanide [TEATCM] as a nanostructured molten salt
