Abstract

The elective cesareans have been more prevalent among pregnant female notwithstanding its consequences. one of the prevalent complications postpartum period is mood and emotion changes that this changes can be precipitate postpartum anxiety. Threfore, this study was designed for comparative of anxiety among mothers with natural and cesarean childbirth. Study method was descriptive analytical and this study performed at 4 hospitals of Khoram ababd city. Subjects were 30 women with natural delivery and 30 women with cesarean delivery that were selected through available and voluntary sampling. The data was collected with the kattell anxiety Inventory. Data was analyzed with descriptive Statistic methods such as mean, standard deviation and T-Test for independent groups. Results showed that is significant differences between the level of anxiety in women with vaginal and cesarean delivery, and anxiety was more among women with cesarean rather than natural childbirth. Also obvious and hidden anxiety are more prevalent after cesarean rather than natural childbirth (P< 0/05). Because of high prevalence of anxiety among women with cesarean rather than natural childbirth, specialists and clinicians should help mothers in anxiety decrease and prevention of postpartum anxiety with counseling about selection of appropriate childbirth.
