An essential element buttressing the faith of individual Muslims was the sense of belonging to a larger community of believers, the Ummah. Islamic financial solidarity has several structures and forms such as Infāq, giving Zakat and Khums, Sadaghah, and Waqf. All of these are essential elements of financial solidarity in any Muslim community.
