An essential element buttressing the faith of individual Muslims was the sense of belonging to a larger community of believers, the Ummah. The Islamic understanding of solidarity is in the quest for attachment ‒ expanding connection, and solidarity in a general public that can give grounds to upgrading the Ummah. All the teachings of Islam attest the thorough nature of solidarity among Muslims. Islamic financial solidarity has several structures and forms such as Infāq, giving Zakat and Khums, Sadaghah, and Waqf. All of these are essential elements of financial solidarity in any Muslim community.
