Abstract

Geoffrey Chaucer possessed extensive, dexterous knowledge of the Bible, so there are many allusions to the Bible in the Chaucer ’s Canterbury Tales. On the other hand, Saadi in Golestan makes highly aware of the religious allusions . Saadi shows his power of spiritual thoughts in Golestan . Golestan is one of his most pop ular books, and has proved deeply influential in the West as well as the East. The Golestan is a collection of poems and stories, just as a rose - garden is a collection of roses. It is widely quoted as a source of wisdom and religious allusions.
