Background and Aim: One of the main problems in treatment of addiction is its comorbidity with psychiatric disorders. Psychiatric disorder comorbidity with addiction make a clinical picture different from of both individual. Prognosis and treatment of comorbid psychiatric disorders and addiction are different from each separate occurrence. The present study aimed to investigate the comorbidity of psychiatric disorders and addiction in hospitalized patients in Sanandaj Quds Hospital. Methods: The population consisted of all patients with psychiatric disorders who hospitalized. The sample included 610 patients who were admitted from April 2012 until April 2013. 570 cases were men and 40 case were women. Results: Results show that 93% of sample were man and 7% were women. 183 case of sample had addiction (30%) comorbid psychiatric disorders.166 case were man (27.2%) and 17 case were women (2.8%). Conclusion: High prevalence of addiction in psychiatric disorder patients clear the importance of deep attention comorbidity of drug abuse and psychiatric disorder in psychiatric interview and treatment.in other hand in attention to 30% comorbidity rapid comorbidity of this 2 disorder should be placed to a successful treatment.
