Abstract

ABSTRACT Test anxiety refers to a special type of anxiety or social phobia which makes one doubtful about his abilities and its outcome is reduction of the power to cope with such situations as test, situations which put one subjects to evaluation and require problem solving. Current research work entitled Effectiveness of Self-Awareness Skill Training on Test Anxiety in High School Female Gifted Students in Hamadan was conducted with this aim statistical population include all gifted female students in high school first grade in Hamadan during 2012-2013 (N=95). Research sample size included 30 students in two 15-member group (experiment and control group). Data collection tool was standard test anxiety inventory by Abolghasemi et al (1995). Following data collection in pre-test stage, 7 sessions of self-awareness skill training were held for subjects in experiment group, and data relayed to post-test were collected and classified in the last stage. SPSS 19 was used for data analysis. Covariance and Pearson correlation test were used for testing research hypotheses. Results indicated training self-awareness skill leads to reduction of test anxiety in students (0.05 > 0.001, F=225.838).
