A new species, Trigonella khalkhalica Ranjbar & Hajmoradi (Fabaceae), endemic to Iran there are 42 taxa in 12 sections localized in Ardebil Province in northwesten Iran and belonging different phytogeographical regions, and 13 (39%) ofˇ to Trigonella L. sect. Ellipticae (Boiss.) Sirj., is the taxa are endemic distinguished from T. elliptica Boiss. sect. Ellipticae by some differences such as plantetal. Of these endemic taxa,12 areˇheight (41–65 cm vs.30-40[50] cm), indumentums perennial and fruit shape (characterized by having glabrous leaves, stems, and vs. erect).Trigonellaellipticaisselectedforpods, andyelloworoccasionallyvioletflowerscomparisonwiththenewspeciesbecauseitissimilar toT. khalkhalica in fruit characters (the size of pods, In recent years the relationships betweenTrig-sculpturing,and number of seeds). The remaining taxa in the section have more restricted distributions. Morphological and anatomical studies on vegetative and floral structures (including pollen, peduncle, stem, and leaf epidermis) are discussed for both species. The present study focuses on the analysis of the new species from T. elliptica are the polar and anatomical features, pollen morphology, and equatorial diameters, the colpus interval, and pollenogical characteristics of the new species named here shape.
