Abstract

Gladiolus is a member of Iridaceae family and Gladiolus genus which contains about 300 species. This plant is found in most parts of the world. The scientific name of Gladiolus is Gladiolus grandiflorus that is native to South Africa, Mediterranean and some of this species is native to Europe. Wild Gladiolus grows in most parts of Iran. The mites associated with soil and Arial parts and the litter under Gladiolus plants in fields and greenhouses of Mahalat city were collected and identified in 2012-2014. Some of them such as (Koch)Tetranychus urticae andRhizoglyphus echinopus (Fumouze& Robin) were plat feeders and some of them likeNeoseiulus marginatus (Wainstein), Neoseiulus sugonjaevi (Wainstein&Abbasova), Hypoaspis (Gaeolaelaps) aculeifer(Canestrini), Hypoaspis(Gaeolaelaps)queenslandica (Womersley), Neophyllobius persianeensis (Khanjani&Ueckermann), Raphignathus gracilis(Rack), Neognathusterrestris (Summers &Schlinger), Eustimaeusnasrinae (Khanjani&Ueckermann) were in free living or predators role.
