An experiment was conducted to study the effects of vitamin B12 and selenium+vitamin E injection in Mehraban pregnant ewes on thyroid hormones and vitamin B 12 status of ewes and their lambs. Twenty four pregnant ewes (2-3 years old) were randomly selected. Ewes were divided into four groups: 1) Control, 2) Animals were injected 4 selenium + vitamin E, 3) ewes that were injected vitamin B12 and selenium + vitamin E, and 4) ewes that were injected vitamin B12. Injections were carried out in two doses at 9 and 6 weeks before lambing. Concentration of T3 in Selenium+vitamin E injected ewes was significantly higher than other groups (P<0/05). Furthermore, lambs born from these ewes had higher T 3 hormone levels. T 4 levels were significantly higher in the control group ewes as compared to others. Same trend was observed for lambs born in control group (P<0.01). Moreover, serum Vitamin B12 was higher in Vitamin B12 injected groups.
