The present study investigated the differences in reading strategy use by the students of Humanities and Engineering. For this purpose, 200 ESP students (female= 108and male=92) at Bu-Ali Sina University, Hamedan participated in the study. The results Independent Samples t-test indicated there was no significant difference between the 2 groups in the use of reading strategies. However, chi-square results indicated the 2 groups were significantly different in the use of 11 out of 30 individual strategies. In addition the most and least frequently adopted strategies by the groups were identified, only one of which was shared as the least used one by the groups which was “reading aloud the text”.
