Background and Aim: Leishmaniasis is a disease with different clinical symptoms. This study focuses on expression of pro-inflammatory gene. Investigating the expression of cytokines, especially in the liver, can be important in detecting the profile of inflammatory genes in cutaneous leishmaniasis. Methods: Expression of these pro-inflammatory genes including IL-1α, IL-1β, TNF-α was analyzed using by RT-PCR in liver Leishmania infected BALB/c mice. Results: Pro-inflammatory genes, including TNF-α, IL-1β were expressed in mice infected liver. Conclusion: Current study indicated a role for Leishmania in expression proinflammatory genes in livers of infected mice.
