ThesynthesesandcharacterizationofZn–Allayereddoublehydroxide(LDH)andchitosannanocompositsarereportedinthepresentpaper.Byincreasingchitosanconcentration,thecrystallitegrowthisinhibitedinbothdirectionsaandc.Afterward,cetirizine-intercalatedLDHwassynthesized.AccordingtoXRDpatterns,increaseinbasalspacingindicatedthatcetirizineanionswereintercalatedintoLDH.In-vitrodrugreleaseexperimentshavebeeninvestigated.Onthebasisofthereleaseprofiles,itwasfoundthatincreaseinchitosanconcentrationcausesindecreaseindrugreleaserate.Therefore,chitosanconcentrationcanbeadjustedtocontroltherateofthedrugrelease.
