Schiff-base have been extensively employed in the understanding of molecular processes occurring in biochemistry, material science, catalysis, encapsulation, activation, transport and separation phenomena, hydromethallurgy, etc [1,2]. In this work, first we prepared 1,4-bis(2-formylphenyl)homopiperazine according to literature method [3]. Here we report a series of macrocyclic Schiff-base complexes from the reaction of potentially tetradentate N4-donor Schiff-base ligand and related Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) metal ions. The free ligand also has been derived from direct condensation of 1,3-propanediamine and 1,4-bis(2-formylphenyl)hompiperazine. All of compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra and in the case of Zn(II) complex by 1H and 13C NMR.The crystal structure of Zn(II) complex was reported and showed that the complex contains Zn(II) in a distorted pentagonal pyramidal geometry with a N4Cl core
