Abstract

Inthiswork,electrochemicaloxidationof4-tertiobutylcatecholhasbeenstudiedinthepresenceofdesloratadineasnucleophileinamixtureofethanol/watersolutionbymeansofcyclicvoltammetryasadiagnostictechnique.TheresultsindicatetheparticipationofdesloratadineintheMichaeladditionreactionwiththeoxidizedformof4-tertiobutylcatecholasaMichaelacceptortoproducenewaminoderivativeviaECEmechanism.Attheend,thisfinalproducthasbeencharacterizedbycyclicvoltammetry,IR,NMRandMassspectroscopy.
