Abstract

In this study, a green, simple and template-free strategy for the electropolymerization of imipramine is developed. Our data show that the polymerization of imipramine creates an attractive architectures of a sponge-like film on the electrode. The electropolymerization process is performed under template-free conditions without the need for any pretreatment or modification of the underlying surface in water and room temperature. Also, the modified electrode has been decorated by gold-nanoparticles (AuNPs) to improve conductivity of the film. The fabricated electrode has been characterized by the field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDX), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) mapping, atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The electrochemical performance of the modified electrode is also evaluated by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
