Abstract

Urea and its derivatives have found numerous applications in organic, analytical, and medicinal chemistry, polymer sciences, agriculture, and industry.[1] Nowadays, the heterogenization of metal complexes with catalytic activity within inorganic matrixes (such as SiO2, MCM-41, SBA, clay, zeolite, etc.) is a field that has advanced due to the combination of high reactivity and chemical selectivity with facile separation of the catalyst.[2] Among them, SBA-15 is endowed with some remarkable properties such as thicker walls, larger pores, and dual pore as well as the highly hydrothermal and thermal stabilities.[3] The immobilization of organic frameworks on/into the mesoporous and microporous materials surface/pores would lead to the materials hydrophobic and hydrothermally stable and thus furnish them with improved catalytic activities in applications for organic synthesis.[4] Therefore, in order to expand the applicability as well as stability of Pd‐decorated SBA‐15 materials in air and in aqueous media, it is necessary to enhance the surface using organic functional groups by appropriate organic ligands as linkers between SBA-15 silica and Pd.[5]
